Advice?
A bit pissed off. I'm sure it will pass as I just got back into work out after a 3 month break.
Had a bit of an incident. I fell, cracked my ribs and tore some cartilidge (spelling?).
Anyone had a similair experiance?
How long will I be out of the gym?
Are there any exercises I can do lightly?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.:flagC

Oh that sucks. Something similar happened to me doing MMA and I was out of action for 2-3months at least. I think it was about 6 months before it stopped bothering me. Only advice I can give is to let it rest and don't aggravate it. As it starts to feel better slowly get back into working out.

HEy Talo. Time has passed, only till now that I saw your repsonse.
In regards to your question, I did see a Doctor and got x-rays. Cracked\broke two ribs. Was off work for a good month and a half and I stayed out of the gym for a good 5 months.
When I returned to the gym, I definetly did feel pressure on my rib cage when pressing\pulling. It has been almost a year since that incident. Recovered, rehabilitated, good to go.

6 weeks for broken ribs to heal...now that you are healed start light and work your way up slowly.

you cant jump back into your usual weights right away unless u want to damage the cartilage again work with a spotter for a while and take the weight away if it get uncomfortable no matter what your ego says
