Peanut Butter Prices to go up possibly 40 % !!!! :(

Not sure how many other PB lovers there are out there but I NEED my fix , this isnt going to be good for pricing on anything to do with Peanuts.


A trip down the condiment aisle at your local supermarket will look different today, now that peanut butter price increases are in effect.

Following what CNN calls "one of the worst peanut harvests in decades," manufacturers and merchants are hiking prices by as much as 40 percent.

Kraft, Peter Pan and Smucker's are already costing customers more, with American peanut production expected to be down 13 percent from last year. Why the poor harvest? It's being attributed to the drought across the Southern U.S. this year and to farmers turning their attention to other high-priced crops.

Wander how much of that increase the farmer sees?

I'm not paying that price, i might as well go back to buying Almond butter which used to be expensive but will now be a bargain and i like it better to boot.

I would pay a premium and any increases for all of their stuff including the almond butter. Can't go wrong with no stir versions. love it.

^^ Thats what i get when i buy Almond butter. The Peanut butter is Adams i think..

I'm buying Boles Natural no sugar, no salt peanut butter at Bulk Foods. Love it.

Did it go up in price? I'll ask..

Adams is good , its one of the ones I buy here or if across the boarder its even cheaper (for now) :(

What the heck is going on? We just went and did some shopping and the Adams peanut butter was half price! I had to grab 2.

Adams hasn't changed at the Co-op in Calgary.

Really though, the farmers always get the shaft in these situations and the supermarkets and middle men take all the extra for themselves. Bunch of crooks.

this is terrible news
