Can a pro-ready physique be built on weighted dips, chins, and squat alone?
With all other things being equal (genetics, diet, gear), do you think it is possible for an amateur to win a national qualifying show and go pro through the use of weighted dips, weighted chins, and squats alone? I only ask because it occurs to me that if weighted dips and chins hit all the upper body muscle groups adequately and squats help develop the lower body, would it be feasible to use those without machine work and still build a contest ready physique? Or is it simply impossible?
In my early years I developed most of my physique using only weighted dips, weighted chins, and basic barbell squats. Although I eventually started adding other stuff into the equation as well as more machine work, I can't say with any degree of certainty whether my progress over the years is due to the added machines or simply because of muscle maturity and continual growth.
