What the price you're seeing? I was at costco the other day and it was $40 for 4.4lbs same as what Meathelmet said earlier in the post.

Ok, lets do some math...hopefully my brain is still working :)
Kaizen has a $40 4.4lbs. tub of isolate at 85% protein per serving.
TS has a $35 5lbs. of blend (with main ingredient isolate) at 79% per serving.
So if you consider the ratios:
Kaizen - 4.4lbs. x 0.85 = 3.74lbs. of protein per unit
TS - 5lbs. x 0.79 = 3.95lbs. of protein per unit
Conclusion...you're getting 0.21lbs. more protein per unit and it's $5 cheaper. You may argue the fact that it's 100% isolate, well at our ratio compared to theirs, we run a lot of isolate in our blends, so are you really getting that much more and is it really worth it to go with something that's $5 more expensive and on top of it you're actually not getting as much of the good stuff per container?
As for the other guy you mentioned...
their isolate is an 84% protein to serving ratio. Our Isolate is around 90% and our blend actually get's tested around 80%...so if our blend is around 80% that should give an idea of how high quality the protein is and just how much isolate is used along with a very high quality filtered concentrate.
Is an extra $20 per 5lbs. really worth an increase of 4% per serving? I would say it would be if it was in the neighborhood of a 10% increase :)...same goes for the above example with Kaizen...
Also, if you're spending $200, well $200-$499 you get 5% off so that knocks our isolate down to $56.99 and if you consider the protein to serving ratio I believe you'll be paying less for 20lbs going with TS isolate anyways if you want to get right down to it.
Plus you can mix an match flavors with us no matter the quantity...
But, non the less very competitive and yes it is a tough business :)
It`s good to know your blend is mostly isolate. I read the profile of it and saw isolate was the first ingredient. But for the price I didn`t think it was so. So the blend indeed is a kick ass price But why is a protein that is 100% iso cost nearly twice as much as the blend? If the blend is mostly iso anyway, the price difference for the 100% iso seems expensive. Maybe you can lay out the math so my feabal brain can understand here...
But having said that your blend prices are very good and will most likely give the blend a try as I the kaizen is starting to get old on the taste buds.
How much DHA are in your omega gels? Couldn`t see it listed on the site.
To be honest with you, to run with 100% pure isolate like ours is simply expensive as this is just a very pure form of protein without any other type of protein and as little flavoring, sweetener, and no lactose, cabs, fats, and etc. so that's what you're paying for...but 2 other reasons why our blend is so affordable are:
1) There is concentrate in there - We do run concentrate in our blend but it is an 80% concentrate (which is a very filtered concentrate), which does knock down the price quite a bit. But, like I stated earlier there is quite a bit of isolate in the blend and if you were to try it you'd see that from how well it mixes and the quality of it.
2) economies of scale - We sell more blend than isolate which gives us the opportunity to offer our customers a better price. Basically, every price break we encounter we also pass this onto our customers. So, the more we sell and the more you buy, the cheaper it will be for everyone :)...that goes for all our products and not just protein!
The DHA content of our omega-3 gelcaps is:
Elcosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) -180 mg/capsule
Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) -120 mg/capsule
We are also now running these gelcaps with an enteric coating designed to release in the small intestine, thereby reducing fish oil reflux and that unpleasant fish breathe you might sometimes experience with other brands.
We have yet to post this on or site, but is on our to do list ;)

In terms of what makes up the rest, well you have the flavoring, sweetners, natural ingredients, natural occuring carbohydrates and fats, etc. just like anything else...protein is no different than any other type of food products.

Serving size and servings per container are kind of irrelevant, companies can put whatever scoop size they want in there which will completely change the serving size and servings per container...you need to look at the protein to serving ratio.
