Just how close to natural are these comps?

Well I was working for the IOC last night at the Ontario Naturals and we pulled in 3 guys for urine tests. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if anyone comes back positive. Plus the OPA + IOC is doing out-of-competition testing so they can come to your house anytime.

what about the girls? Have they ever been tested? The whole thing with having pro cards now at the WQ for bikini and figure is what is drawing the girls back to these natural shows. To be honest, I think it would be more fair to put the focus on testing the girls rather than the guys. In the past the stigma is that guys tend to be the ones to be caught, but I would bet that of all the girls and guys at WQ who are not being honest, more of them are the girls.

Actually I think the last time I worked with the drug testing team it was only the females who tested positive - all the guys passed (if my memory serves me correctly). As far as I know it was done randomly. And the 3 tested were just the luck of the draw. I'm certain that the OPA president could go into more details with you if you like...you should email him directly.

good to know! And yeah, It wouldn't surprise me if the females failed more often then the guys. More 'rewards' for natural girls now with pro cards at stake at the next level. For those of you pointing out that the guys weren't that great, this is because they are natural. yes, there are probbably better natural guys out there, but the best of them don't stay natural long enough to prove it.

bikini competitors need to diet too. There are many drugs that are banned that a bikini girl would take. Don't be naive to think that 'drugs' are just for putting on muscle. Besides, there are many girls at the pro level that have more muscle than the average girl at the gym. I've said this a million times before, but yes, some girls will look great the way they do based on pure genetics, others need to work harder at it, diet, train hard, real hard - just to get to that level, and then there are others who need to not only work hard, but the added assistance benefits them.

Do they NEED it? no, but does it help them, yes...So can't classify bikini as a drug free sport. same with figure. Both of them have a large spectrum of 'looks' that are rewarded, and some of those looks are made with drugs. Every body type is different, and what suits them might require different supplements than others.

With that said - there is no reason ANY competitor should fail a drug test period. If you're not clean, sit out the natty show.

Don't forget that it's an IOC drug test so they test for everything. Coke, weed..etc not just PED's.
