Here at the hotel ready and anxious to hit the stage in the morning. I'm in the med-tall class with 7 or 8others.

Well this was the easiest prep of my competitive career. everything went according to plan. the end result of the way i looked is likely the best of my life. dumping 10lbs of muscle was a hard pill to swallow but i did what i thought needed to be done. the reality is that my frame and structure is made for bodybuilding. I'll post up pics of the morning show tonight. it will be pics of what NOT TO LOOK LIKE. I've never been so disappointed in a showing. its back to the drawing board aka the gym. train for fun, train for health. train to be happy with how i look. I'm going to take time to decide if i ever will step on stage again.

Ok guys, i know this is going to sound like i'm a whining bitch who can't take losing a contest. The reality is this placing really chaps my ass and i'm too close to the situation to be impartial so i'll leave it to you guys to judge if i should have been 8th (LAST PLACE). My pics are here and 5 of the guys pics are also here to compare.
The final pic is of the current crop of Mens Physique IFBB Pros. To expect these guys who beat me to compare to these guys better than i could is laughable at best. The judging is tragic and completely upside down.

I have to agree with you - YOU WERE ROBBED !
Try not to let it get you down or stay away from the stage. I bet if you were on stage at the NY pro you would have placed top 5.
Faack DK, you looked great dude. I'm still learning how this men's physique thing is judged and honestly it makes as much sense to me as some of the bikini/ figure too ripped not ripped enough crap goes. F it you looked awesome and at heart you probably didn't feel right doing this class as you know your roots as a bodybuilder. Just another stepping stone brother congrats non the less!
DK, your physique was very comparable to the top pro's for sure. The thing about this physique division is that presentation is everything. It's just like it is for us girls, the girl with the best physique in figure or bikini usually doesn't win. It's more a sport about learning how to stand, walk, smile, and stand out somehow without looking like a phoney or looking too over the top. In all pic's I saw you were not smiling, smiling with teeth showing is a must in these presentation sports. Also the perfect tan and shine is so important. From the pic's looks like your colour could have been better. I am being critical and don't mean to offend. When I started competing I did not place well. I haven't really changed my physique much but I have improved my presentation by a million. I know it sounds sucky, but our work in the gym and dieting can always be beat by the girl or guy who naturally shines on stage. Just the nature of a judged, subjective sport.
I can't see any pattern.
