So you added an extra plate for the same number of reps. You **** ! Oddly enough I could do 15 with 405 but topped out at 455x7 (with belt - I always used one with anything over 425) and 455 felt like my hips were going to rip off from the rest of my body. I didn't use wraps back then and I use thick Pling sleeves now. Wish I'd have used them back then. Last time I tried 405 I used sleeves but no belt. Got 8 reps. My body hurt for a week. It doesn't like anything over 365 now. Does HGH help significantly with joints in respect to pushing heavier weights at our age Prae ?

I think it depends on how you do the set. How much rest between reps makes a huge difference IMO. I suppose if you waited 30 seconds between reps you'd bang out a few more. I hate anything above 15 for squats or leg press. That's what separates the men from the boys , me being a boy in that regard. IMO my 405x15 was nothing compared to my 315x30. I've also done 12 plates a side for 10 on the leg press , which is nothing compared to a guy who can do 6-8 plates per side for 50 reps. That takes balls. I don't got 'em.

No offense to the guys putting up crazy weight for huge reps, but parallel compared to buried in the hole are two totally different things.

Thats like half benching weight in my opinion.

I have very good hip mobility and overall body flexibility from being an athlete for many years so I can bury it right down with near perfect form till the end.

I think I can get three more by the end of the month, its just hard when I am so low carb and do a lot of cardio to prepare for an upcoming course.

I usually take about 1-2 min rest after my warm ups:

    bar x 12
    135 x 8
    185 x 6
    225 x 3-4
    275 x 1-3
    315 x ?

My best high rep was 225 x 25 buried a couple years ago. I never do anything less than FULL ROM squats because I dont have knee issues and I never wear a belt.

This how I used to squat. That low but nowhere near as heavy. Coolest training video ever IMO.

Ya, that video is mental. He bottoms right out on every rep. Insane weight for those reps.

I always use a PL belt on anything over 405...when I hit 495 for 15 i did use a belt and knee wraps. My reps are always below parallel with any weight because I started out training as a PL and unless you drop into the hole when training you pretty much screwed when you try a meet...so no half rep BS here. GH does help alot especially once you are over 35-40, recovery is better and knees feel much better. I also use joint supps such as Joint Plus and Arthrolyze by Species...the knees have taken a pounding with all the heavy training for the last 27 years. I dont go over 405 any more and I prefer to squat last in my routine so im not looking to push heavy just to really target the quad and hams and use a controlled movement...say 315 for 15 for 3-4 sets is good after i have done all ham work and high rep leg extensions and leg presses first.

That's how every rep should be when squatting no matter what weight is used.

I thought this was bench press...Good lift #8. Keep going.
i love squatting, personally, i like to go up 5 lbs each session, then in short time, you are up high..Eat lots of nutrition, good rest before next attempt, mind focused, BOOOMMM
My last attempt at Benchpress high reps, i did 315 for 16 reps, then CC had to assist for # 17.

I LOVE squatting, but mobility and lower back are a big issue.

The only way I was able to squat decent weight without hurting myself was with a machine similar to this:

I know it's not the real deal, but as soon as I was hitting 275lbs on regular back squats my lower back was hurting and failing while the legs were fine and screaming for more. On a machine similar to this ^, I could put way more weight and push the legs since there was no pressure on the lower back at all. Wish I could have this at my gym.
