Question Training for people with fibromyalgia

Hi guys, I'm 54 and 130 lbs wet, skinny dude and I am suffering from fibromyalgia. I always liked to do bodybuilding but never got big because of my disorder. I have a small athletic build but I can hardly grow muscles since I ache at the joints and muscles so It's hard for me to really load heavy. I am trying "Test Freak" and take Creatine but after two weeks I cannot say it made a difference. I wonder If any other Fibromyalgia sufferers have tried workouts that works for them. I would like to gain but it's painful to load. I would appreciate any training suggestions from people that have Fibro. I love body building but will never realize my dream to look big aching like that, thank you !

When were you diagnosed with fib and are you taking meds for it?

Sorry for the delay, vacation and all. Thanks for your reply. I've been diagnosed when I was in the military in my mid twenties, I am 54 now but don't look my age people tell me because I am fit externally. With fibro, came a lot of stuff like depression, pain, stress, etc. At 34, I started having joint pain walking the golf course. I had to stop playing golf 10 years ago because of the pain. I changed my diet and it helped.
I was on some medication back in the days but it was causing me to be amorph, tired, no energy though I was sleeping well but would wake up tired, weird feeling. It was chemical stuff. I have problems with food mal absorbtion, some gluten sensitivity not super strong but it's there some food give me stomach discomfort, I am food sensitive.
I don't grow muscles fast because of my problems. I am 5'5 -5'6 and 130 lbs. I am seeing a naturopath and after some tests, she told me that I had a bacteria invading my body but it's not Candida which she thought it was, it's something else. I had mono when I joined and after that several cases of VD being in the military gong oh and promiscuous. I am taking natural products and trying to stay on a good diet avoiding junk the best I can though I cheat sometimes 'cause I'm human. Lately I've been taking Test freak with Iso Natural proteins and I can say that my strength improved and my muscles developed a little.
I don't want to take chemicals that the doctor would prescribe me like he did in the past because it makes me feel sluggish and numb. I found no matter what I better train and have pain than not train and have pain.
I am not always in pain but I don't sleep very well so it's hard to grow muscles when your sleep is not that good. I don't know what else to do but I don't want the doctor to prescribe me chemicals to mask the problem, It's just causing others. Thanks for you're concern and I will listen to whatever help I can get to be able to workout until I die because it helps keeping my sanity If I see results from my training and I love doing body building even though I'm not a big guy, an older lady would definitely like me. Thanks again for reading this, god bless you even If I'm not religious !

Thanks Praetorian. I have some food sensitivities to a bunch of ingredients so it's hard to bulk up because of that. I am sensitive to carbs so I wonder If because of my limitations I will ever gain significant mass.
When I wake up at 4:00 A.M I eat two eggs and two gluten free toast maybe a protein shake and a bunch of natural pills given by my Naturopath, mostly vitamins and some plants to kill a bacteria that's living in my guts. I've been struggling with this problem for years. At 6:30 A.M I eat a gluten free bagel and a protein shake. At 8:30 I eat around 1 cup of cereals with almond milk. At 10:00 I'll have a protein bar. At 11:30-12:00 lunch mostly chicken, gluten free pastas, vegetables. At 14:30 I drink a protein shake before I leave . When I get home I'll have a gluten free turkey or chicken sandwich, maybe a beer and a cigar If weather is nice ( only cigars in the summer and not every day ). before I go to bed I'll have a Casein protein shake. Also take protein shakes before and after workout and will now ad amino acids before and after work out.
I'm sure this is not a very good diet to build huge muscles but I am a little limited but I'm trying my best to eat well and staying away from Junk. Thank you If you can advice me I will appreciate any professional advices.
Building muscles at 54 when you have Fibro and skinny bone structure is not easy but I really like working out and I always will no matter what !

You are correct your diet is not the best for building muscle. Food sensitivity is much different then food allergies and even food allergies dont always last. Gluten sensitivity is easy to avoid. When you say sensitive to carbs what do you mean specifically? Are you insulin resistant? Have you done a blood glucose test? Bacteria in your gut are you referring to candida? Bagels, cereals, beer, almond milk...this is just wasted calories. Where is the fresh meat, vegetables, fruits? Beef, eggs, chicken, turkey, fish, green veggies, root vegetables, berries, steel cut oats...all staples and nothing that would cause sensitivity.

Apparently I don't have Candida but another kind of bacteria that I'm trying to treat. I will see the Naturopath shortly. My anus becomes itchy and irritated when I eat carbs so I limit the intake. I managed to gain 8 pounds but I'm eating a lot more proteins and some supplements and it works so far I gained strength and muscle mass so I will cycle those products. Got a hard time sleeping solid though. I drink one small coffee in the morning and none on the week ends. I eat lots of chicken with some veggies cooked with it, I also take the Creatine and some Casein before I go to bed. If I can fix my anus itching I'll be happy. Thanks for your advices !
