    Default Heart health tests?

    Hi P,

what are the tests that one can do to determine what kind of shape their heart and cardiovascular system is in.

any way to know if one has arterial clogging by some blood test.

so far all i know is

    1. get your bp checked
    2. resting heart rate
    3. full lipids profile
    4. vo2 max

someone mentioned a dye test for the heart aka
coronary angiogram but i dont think medical will cover that?

what are some supplements you recommend and dosages for heart health?

    thx

    May help.

    Glutathione

    - The body’s most powerful detoxifier and antioxidant.
    - It protects cells and tissue from oxidant damage.
    - It inhibits the formation and protects against cellular damage from free radicals.
    - It protects cells from cellular damage and tissues of the arteries, the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin.

    Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

    - A powerful antioxidant.
    - Necessary for the basic function of cells.
    - Stimulates and helps the immune system.
    - Has a critical role in the production of energy in every cell of the body.
    - Helps the cells mitochondria metabolize fats and carbohydrates.
    - Increases circulation and tissue oxygenation.
    - Helps maintain the flexibility of cell membranes.
    - Has anti-aging properties.
    - Some research has shown it to be effective against tumors and leukemia with animals.
    - CoQ10 like Glutathione decreases as we age.
    - CoQ10 like Glutathione seems to be lower in patients with chronic disease.
    - Deficiences of CoQ10 is also linked with periodontal disease, diabetes, and musculardystrophy.
    - People with heart failure have been found to have lower levels of CoQ10 in heart muscle cells.
    - Lower levels of CoQ10 have been observed in people with Parkinson's disease.
    - Statins can reduce serum levels of CoQ10 by up to 40%.
    - May slow brain cell death and slow progression of disease.
