HiIt feels good to be back into a contest prep at 54 yrs old and at my best. I haven't competed in Bodybuilding since Nationals in 2006. Last May I did a brief switch over to Figure and placed Second in GrandMasters Figure and 4th in Figure Medium-Talls at the Luchka/O'Brien Classic in Mississauga.
Figure wasn't for me, I felt like I was a plastic Barbie doll, move like this bow like that etc. No personality IMO or I didn't feel I could let mine come through. I'm sassy lets say and felt I was holding back what I'm able to show off in a Bodybuilding class. I have a great upper body, not the glutes or non existence of them that figure girls have.
So it's back to BODYBUILDING. This will be my 7th competition in 9 yrs, I've trained for 11yrs in total and felt my best showing ever was when I won the Female Masters Bodybuilding class at Provincials in 05. I'll be in Light Weights and Masters classes and am holding today at 119 lbs. 10 lbs heavier then my first comp in 02.
