No disrespect to Alex, he's a great lifter, and no disrespect meant to anyone... But the title of Canadas strongest man goes to Christian Savoie who won CSM this year.
Alex is the top Canadian powerlifter and now holder of the highest wilks in Canadian history, which is a pretty bad ass title I think. He's also a really nice guy.
People think it's an obsession. A compulsion. As if there were an irresistible urge to act. It's never been like that. I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day I could stop. Today, however isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either.
If there is any reference made in the show to Alex being "Canada's Strongest Man", it is just a casual reference.....sort of like calling a bodybuilder "The Biggest Dude Around".
I didn't mean to cause any confusion between stongman competitors and powerlifters.
I really enjoyed the episode myself. Alex is a good guy, and has a great outlook.
