Boost is a U.S. based carrier which while it has good coverage in the states, it has a few bare spots. It does not work in Canada. You can call pretty much any where from inside the states. I am a truck driver and have used Boost for some time now as it is a cheap alternative to Verizon or using a Canadian phone set up to work in the states as well as here in Canada.
As far as I know Boost has no plans to be in Canada at all.
Boost is sort of a prepaid system.. I bought the Blackberry they offered which costs $60.00/mth u.s. Add the 5 dollars for international and you can call pretty much anywhere... unlimited talk and text and Data... So for 65 bucks I'm set.. and it never changes with hidden fees.. it's always 65.00. And now they have this "shrinkage" plan... if you keep renewing each month then after each 6th month they knock off 5 dollars... as low as 45 dollars a mth, (that would be your reward for being with them for 2 yrs.)
I'm not driving in the states anymore and so I don't need thee phone.. and because the model I bought (curve 8530) is a CDMA it can't be used anywhere but on the Boost network. Wish I had bought a GSM phone instead.. I could unlock it up here and use it at home... sigh.. live and learn.
