Can you explain to the board members why this is the route some athletes should choose if they want to compete on a regular basis in their province and country for something meaningful other than being called a "wbff pro". No disrespect intended but, quite frankly, I have watched athletes that have been awarded "pros cards" under your umbrella and they can't even come top 3 in their class in a provincially sanctioned event (sometimes at the novice level) let alone a CBBF event...

To me, its just a totally meaningless title...I think you misguide athletes a bit as some athletes, whether their own ignornace is to blame or they have been told by wbff promoters, have no idea they can be a pro card winner in wbff and they can't even compete in a CBBF event in an attempt to move toward an IFBB pro card...a real one..just sayin

To follow up, right from CBBF site:

THE ONLY PRO STATUS THAT COUNTS

Make no mistake; it is a fact, that the only viable Pro card that really means anything is one earned by competing in CBBF National events. In the past few years, numerous Bodybuilding and Fitness Federations are popping up like dandelions on a spring lawn. It seems that every letter of the alphabet is used to describe these Federations. The result is a lot of confusion among athletes as to where to compete. In these tough economic times, everyone is watching their finances more closely and have only a limited amount of dollars to spend in preparation for contests. So it only makes sense that you want the best bang for your buck when it comes to which Federation and what contests you want to compete in. If your ultimate goal is to earn an IFBB Pro card, then the only federation in Canada that offers this opportunity is the CBBF. We are the only Federation that has over 35 years of organized National competitions with provincial affiliated associations in every province. Other Federations offer Pro status but they are not recognized by the IFBB and they don’t allow you to compete at IFBB Pro competitions.

    And further:

Competitors from non-IFBB affiliated federations are ineligible to compete (in Nationals or any IFBB event). In fact, many are mislead into thinking they can compete until they apply and are turned down. Mark Smishek Chairperson of the CBBF has had numerous requests form non-CBFF athletes wishing to compete at this year’s Arnold Amateur. Because they did not compete or qualify through the CBBF, they were turned down.
