I hate to use my subjective experience as a reference point but a couple of my university friends who were also fellow bouncers showed clear signs of social impairment. One of of my co-workers never finished his kin degree as he was so invested in the gym. Although that example is a clear example, what about the bodybuilder preparing for a show who feels anxiety if he cant make it out of work to go to the gym due to time constraints; would this be seen as impairment. Diagnosis in this sense seems to be a slippery slope.
Truth be told im not even sure that MD will be in the new DSM, we were talking about the ramifications of the DSM at work, we have concerns with it being too inclusive so that everyone with a common cold mental disorder can claim a disability of sorts.
