    Default Digestion problems with whey

For some reason it seems that the protein I can take is ON's Gold standard whey. Most cheaper powders bloat me up and make me feel like shit. I tried Costco's Isolate and still the same thing. My gut gets massive after a week and I stop getting hungry. I love gold standard, but I wish I could get something that was under 68 for 5 pounds

I drink milk all the time without issue. Could it be that gold standard has digestive enzymes?

The bulk isolate at canadianprotein.com comes in under $70. I have no issues with it especially if I take a digestive (protease) enzyme along with it. The majority of protein digestion takes place in the small intestine by way of enzymes secreted by the pancreas, so adding a few extra enzymes to make up for the extra protein seems like a good idea. Bromelain or papain are protease enzymes, if you buy 'digestive enzymes' instead they normally also contain lactase (for lactose obviously) and some form of carbohydrate splitting enzyme.

I agree with dtman. Digestive enzymes go a long way when it comes to absorbing protein and not upsetting your digestive system. Having a $68 rule is good, but you want to make sure you are also getting a quality protein that is actually helping you with your goals as well.

Maybe you should look into spending more money for a Good protein. I take ISO NATURAL by ALLMAX because they are natural and they are not sweetened with artificial sweeteners, they taste great. They use Stevia and this is one of the only sweetener that is natural from an Amazonian plant and won't increase your glycemic level If you're sensitive to sugar like I am and I always take one digestive enzyme with any meal. IF you have some digestive problems maybe you should think about taking digestive enzymes. There are different ones and you have to find the one that works for you. I was using BIO-GEST at first and they were causing me problems so I switched to Enzymes Plus by SISU every time I eat solid food and proteins, it really helps digestion and no digestion problems or stomach burns.

I'm taking Allmax iso natural proteins because I'm gluten free, carb sensitive. They are sweetened with stevia which is natural sugar and the only sweetener I use, they don't cause me any problems and it taste good.

Try with almond milk instead of milk, It's not bad, I was a milk drinker until my stomach gave up and I switched to Almond milk and no more digestive pain, it didn't me too long to get use to it and it's low calories and fat, milk is not so good for us anyways.

You might be lactose intolerant. You can try using another protein that is lactose free or you can just take a non milk derived protein such as Carnivor which is a beef protein.
