So I have what appears to be either a sprained or partially torn MCL. Probably a grade 1 tear or mild sprain. No swelling, full ROM is possible, stable when walking, no bruising, can squat using my bodyweight easily..... can't be too traumatic IMO. Not even sure I know how or when I did it. It could have been leg extension last Monday or when I banged the bar off my shin doing deads a week ago today. I do recall that hurting , although typically a MCL tear occurs when a blunt force hits the outside of the knee. Can't do that doing deads. Seems to be getting more sore as time goes on though. Anyhow, I am seeing my ART guy in a couple of weeks as I trust his diagnosis without a MRI. Hopefully at some point I'll see a knee specialist just to make sure. Until then I'm gonna apply the RICE protocol and lay off all legs and deads for a month at least. Last time I tore my meniscus I ran HGH for 3.5 months and had great results at 2IU daily (that was my other knee and it's fantastic now). I'll probably do the same in the meantime with this injury. Could be a waste of money but it can't hurt either.
Anyone else have this injury and what were you able to do while it healed ? I hate not training legs !
