    Hey Eric,
Its been about 5 months i havent been on boards very seriously.
I got quite ill, with a seratonin deficiency, from a misguided youth we will say and head trauma a few times. It caught up with me. I am now back in action, 120%. I didnt even realize how ill i was getting for a long while, it was gradual. Then i couldnt even walk without getting sick, room spinning, i was having seizures regularily, which ended up cracking my teeth in molar areas. Went to a million tests, and one SSRI pill at 50 mg day changed my entire life. # days and i was back to normal, within 2 weeks i was better than ive been in 10 yrs.
Anyway, you hear of this syndrome with football players, hockey players etc. It is like having the worst seasickness in your life, for days at a time, and then having seizures, and fainting on top of that. My life is awesome once again.
Sorry for hijack. Its been a couple of months now since ive been cured, and am getting everything back in order.

Wow that was serious! Sounds like something that could have never been found and have been stuck with it forever. Glad you had a good diagnostician and glad that you are 120%!

GH does help alot especially once you are over 35-40, recovery is better and knees feel much better. I also use joint supps such as Joint Plus and Arthrolyze by Species...the knees have taken a pounding with all the heavy training for the last 27 years. I dont go over 405 any more and I prefer to squat last in my routine so im not looking to push heavy just to really target the quad and hams and use a controlled movement...say 315 for 15 for 3-4 sets is good after i have done all ham work and high rep leg extensions and leg presses first.

I was just talking about this tonight with a buddy. I do squats last now so I can't get the ego involved. I find if I've exhausted my legs properly that by the time I get to squats all I can handle is 365x8-10. And taht's only every 2-3 weeks. Most weeks it's just a very slow controlled 315x15.

Thats like half benching weight in my opinion.

I have very good hip mobility and overall body flexibility from being an athlete for many years so I can bury it right down with near perfect form till the end.

I think I can get three more by the end of the month, its just hard when I am so low carb and do a lot of cardio to prepare for an upcoming course.

I usually take about 1-2 min rest after my warm ups:

    bar x 12
    135 x 8
    185 x 6
    225 x 3-4
    275 x 1-3
    315 x ?

My best high rep was 225 x 25 buried a couple years ago. I never do anything less than FULL ROM squats because I dont have knee issues and I never wear a belt.
maybe try a longer warm up. Then wait 5-7 mins before going for the 315x15. I know that sounds like a long time but it will help and not hurt.

^^ Yes, this is good advice.

I like to keep rests short so my heart rate stays high. When I go for 15 this week I will take about 5 mins before I try.

I really am a firm believer in high rep training compared to low rep heavier weight. I know not any one method is ideal for all aspects, but since my training philosophy changed a while ago, I am in near the best shape of my life and much leaner to boot. Much of this can also be attributed to the diet lessons I learned from training with Prae. Ever since I got my body fat down into low single digits last year it has been much easier to re-attain / maintain it.
    Never give up a cabinet!!

When squatting your reps should be the same depth whether its 135lbs or 600lbs otherwise your form is brealking down and you need to lighten up and get full rom. My reps are the same depth through warmups to my max...thats the only whay youll ever get three green lights in a meet. So 495 is in the hole like any other weight...most PL would call this parallel but its actually lower because the hip joint is below the knee...in other words in the hole.
