Ever see a pro BB use rings....most likely because they really would like to keep their rotator cuffs and bicep tendons intact. There is a reason why male gymnast rarely weigh over 150lbs, hold about 70% of their muscle above the waist. If you want to excel as an athlete look to what the elite athletes in their sport did to get where they are. You want to be a BB do what BB do not what a 150lb gymnast does.

Gironda used some rings.Don't completely straighten your arms during flyers. Some movements are simply too hard if you squat .You can do inverted rows without putting stress on your lower back if its tired.Rings have their time and place.Maybe if some of the pros used them you would see more striations.

Those gymnasts are trying to keep their weight down.I have never looked at their diets.Training.Diet.Drugs.All three influence your physique.Charles Poliquin claims the biggest front squat of 535 for 3 he witnessed was performed by a 165 pound Olympic lifter.Obviously a pound is not a pound is not a pound when it comes to muscle mass.

Gironda trained some of the top pro's in the 70's including Arnold. He was probably one of the most respected and hated trainers of his day. Legend has it that he had no bench press's in his gym and if he caught you doing any type of chest pressing he'd kick you out of his gym. I've used a lot of his training methods simply because he focused mostly on hypertrophy.

Isn't there a video of Ronnie Coleman front squatting 7 or 8 plates?

You're right Hosehead, what a wimp. The video I was thinking of was actually him doing back squats with 800lbs.
