    Default How much weight should a person expect to lose per week on a keto diet??

    Just wondering about how much weight a person should expect to lose on a keto diet per week? I know initially people lose more in first week ,then it tapers down. Would 2-3 lbs a week be realistic? Thanks

    Target is 2lbs for a man.

    On any diet keto or otherwise 2lbs is ideal. More tnd to edge on muscle loss and less means you need to work/diet harder.

    I wouldn't worry even if it is less than 2lbs sometimes. Your body may react differently to the diet. Final result is what matters. Good luck.

    Like everyone said, 2 pounds is a good target. If you are extremely obese it could be higher though. And of course, you may drop around 10 pounds or so in the first week if you are coming off of a higher carb, higher salt diet.
