Default Losing weight, but not significant bellyfat(I think)

    Hello everyone

I was frustrated with high bodyfat so I started cutting about 6 weeks ago.

Ive lost about 20lbs(about 7lbs being water loss @ start of cutting)

started at 187lbs, now i am at 167-8lbs..

I am much leaner than I was before,

but my belly fat doesn't agree with my scale weight lol

It's not that horrible but abs are only visible under light and skin is still thick..

Strength loss is almost negligible for being 20lbs lighter... my benchpress dropped from 315 to 290lbs,

squat from 405 to 375, deadlift, not sure yet cause I don't do this very often.

I've been losing about 2lbs every week constantly, my arm size didn't decrease(16 inches).

I rotate high-med carb to low carb depends on my condition and weight loss progress... so far scale weight wise, ive been successful

but I have no clue when I will get rid of this belly fat.

Btw I do almost no cardio maybe its the problem, so I am willing to reduce time on weightlifting and do some cardio if really needed...

shoud I just keep doing what I am doing?

    thank you.

Those are strong lifts for your size. I think it's completely normal to lean out and not have abs even though you might feel noticeably leaner. Unless you have striated glutes and you still have no abs, then its nothing other than genetics. My abs are the last to come in when dieting, which is great when it comes to bodybuilding, some people are blessed with great abs, and end up coming in soft since they use the level of definition in the abs to dictate their diet.

I would keep what your doing, and I would NEVER reduce time on weightlifting to add cardio. Cardio has its own benefits, but by cutting into your weightlifting time, you can kiss those heavy lifts goodbye (and STILL not see a difference in the bodyfat loss). As you start to get into the single digits bodyfat, the abs will pop. Weight loss will eventually get harder, but if you're losing 2 pounds per week without difficulty now, just give it a few more weeks.

    Thank you very much.

    Your feedback was extremely helpful.

I will do what I am doing and if my weight loss progress slows down, I will either reduce my intake calorie or increase workout intensity.

    Thanks!

It takes time to get really shredded and most guys under estimate the amount of fat they actually have. As Steve said keep dropping 2lbs is very good every week...be patient it will come. Most guys walking around at 200lbs think they will diet and be shredded at 185...not very likely more like 160. The good part is once you get lean you will know where you are which is further ahead then most. From there you can add lean muscle and stay relatively hard year round.

True! Most people underestimate the visceral fat, they only evaluate the epidermal fat they have to loose. When I was competing, my waist was smaller (in vacuum) then one of my leg, so I know I have a lot of sh!t lying there.
