    Default Is It Worth It?

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a good Easter with your family and your loved ones! It's exam week for me and with that comes a lot of stress and pressure. I've been studying like crazy and I've been getting to bed at good times but with all this stress, I've only been getting 6 hour sleeps (7 hours if I'm really lucky). Every morning I wake up early before my alarm even goes off, and today I woke up an hour and half early which I've never done before! I know my sleeping patterns have taken a dive just because of school, this semester is deal breaker for me, my exams are very close together and I've been busting my ass off to try to get an A in one really rough course (if I do finish with an A it'll look amazing on my transcript and I have a good shot at getting into a specialty program 2 years earlier than I normally would!!).

With this being said, I've still been going hard to the gym everyday, even with my messy sleep schedule. My question is, is it worth going to the gym still even with a bad sleep schedule? For example, I know tonight I'm going to probably get 6 hours of sleep which will put me another sleep deficit for the past week now. Would it be more beneficial to skip tomorrow's workout and let my body recover somewhat than to go all out again? Or maybe should I still keep going to the gym but just go less hard? I am already starting to get some signs of overtraining I think (very sore muscles, bloodshot stinging eyes all throughout the day ect.) I'm sure you guys have had this dilemma before with your work or travelling ect. What would you guys do? Also, I've heard some bodybuilding drugs actually allow you to have less sleep but perform the same in the daytime (this is just what I've heard I don't know if it's true or not). I'm natural so I need all the sleep I can get lol just wanted to get that out of the way.

    Thanks a lot guys!

Training everyday is sure overkill, I would go like 4x per week in your situation. Training usually can help sleep better but if you kill yourself in the gym, you cortisol might rise too high. I would train but keep some in the tank for the while you are under pressure, then resume to normal after. I say that, but I know it's really hard to 'half-train', I'm still trying to slow down myself and it's hard.

Alright thanks for the advice Eric! I'll go with 4x a week and see if if that works out for me! By the way the log is looking really good man!
